Gardai issue warning as daredevil teens 'risking their lives' in highly dangerous new trend in Co Kerry

Gardai have asked teenagers in Co Kerry to stop dangling off buildings in a dangerous trend in the county.

Officers have received multiple calls in recent weeks about daredevils dangling off multi-storey buildings.

Local garda Mary Gardiner told Radio Kerry that these people are risking their lives while also breaking the law.

The officer spoke about one incident in particular where two teenagers were seen dangling over a four storey business premises.

Garda Gardiner said: "Put aside the fact that this is actually trespassing but it's the danger of it.

What to do in an emergency situation

"It's so so dangerous for everybody, they are four storeys up. If they fell off, god forbid, they could be killed.

"It's been happening a bit we've gotten a couple of phone calls about it of teenagers going up onto roofs of premises.

"I don't know why they are going up there in the first place not only is it a criminal offence they're trespassing but the danger part of it above all."
