UPDATE: Mary O'Brien has been located safe and well.

Gardai have issued an urgent plea to the public to help trace the whereabouts of a missing South Dublin woman who hasn't been seen in nearly a week.

36-year-old Mary O'Brien is missing from Portobello since Tuesday.

She is described as being approximately 5 foot 4 inches in height and of slim build, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Last time Mary was seen, she was wearing wine coloured leggings, a hooded army green jacket with black sleeves, a white t-shirt and dark runners.

A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí and Mary's family are concerned for her safety.

"Anyone with any information on Mary's whereabouts are asked to contact Kevin Street Garda Station on 01 6669400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
