Gardai issue update on brutal Dublin shooting as man and woman left in 'serious condition'

Gardai are appealing for witnesses after shooting left both a man and woman in serious condition in hospital.

The shocking incident happened at an apartment in Bluebell, Dublin 8, at around 1pm on Saturday.

A woman, aged in her 30s, was shot and rushed to St James' Hospital, where her condition is described as serious.

Shortly after, a man, also in his 30s, presented himself to the hospital with gunshot wounds. He is also in a serious condition, according to gardai.

Forensic Investigators are currently at the scene while a technical examination takes place.

A garda spokeswoman urged anyone with any information to come forward.

"Gardaí are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at an apartment in Bluebell, Dublin 8, this afternoon Saturday 6th March, 2021 at approximately 1pm", the said.

"A woman, aged in her 30s, received gunshot wounds and was removed to St. James Hospital in a serious condition.

"A short time later a man (early 30s) attended St. James Hospital with gunshots wounds. He is in a serious condition.

"The Garda Forensic Investigators are currently at scene and a technical examination is taking place.

"Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information in relation to this incident to come forward.

"Anyone with any information in relation to this matter should contact Kevin Street Garda Station on 01 666 9400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station."
