Gardai have issued a key reminder to parents about the rules of the road after schools returned from their Christmas break last week.
With thousands of children going back to education, that also means that thousands of mothers, fathers and guardians are gathering outside gates or trying to drop their kids off while on the school run.
However, this can create a number of issues.
With that in mind, officers in Donegal issued a statement on Sunday morning reminding parents of the rules surrounding parking and other bits of information.
It read: "The schools have reopened following their Christmas break. Please be mindful of this fact when travelling and slow down in the area of bus collection/drop off points and also in the general area of the schools themselves.
"Always expect the unexpected and be prepared to stop suddenly. Leave extra time for essential journeys as there will be extra school related traffic on the roads."
"Please do not park in an illegal manner while doing the school run, do not block driveways or park on footpaths as in doing so you may restrict emergency access or force others to venture out onto the road which could be very dangerous."
They finished off the statement with a simple request: "Talk to your children about safety on the road."
