Gardai have again issued an important reminder to people as checkpoints are rolled out across the country.
With Level 5 restrictions in full effect, Gardai across the country are increasing visibility in a bid to urge people to stay at home.
There is currently a 5km travel limit in place meaning Garda Covid checkpoints have started popping up again across the country.
People have been told not to leave their unless it is for essential reasons meaning Gardai may once again start questioning where you are going if stopped at one of the these checkpoints.
As expected there are exceptions including if you are going to get a Covid-19 test.
And Gardai are reminding people to follow the proper precautions by keeping their window closed if they are stopped at a checkpoint.
People are asked to display a copy of their test appointment on the window so that Gardai will know where you are heading.
In an update posted to social media Gardai said: "If you are travelling to or from a COVID-19 test & stopped at a Garda checkpoint, please keep your windows closed & display your test appointment through the window.
"It is vital you wear a face covering also if you have symptoms of COVID-19. Let's keep everyone safe."
Gardai have also drawn the public's attention to the current advice to avoid large gatherings, particularly after witnessing a rise in illegal parking at crowded areas.
A spokesman said: "Public health advice is to avoid crowded areas and amenities. If parking facilities at such locations are closed, do not park illegally as this can hinder access by emergency services.
"An Garda Síochána will be patrolling these locations and will enforce parking regulations."
It comes after gardai issued a stern warning to the public after handing out 17 fixed penalty charges to motorists who travelled more than 5km from their home to visit the Wicklow Mountains last week.
