Gardai compared a driver to Marty McFly from Back to the Future after they were caught displaying documentation which expired over two years ago.
The motorist was busted after gardai noticed their tax, insurance and NCT discs were out of date since 2018.
Officers in Cavan seized the vehicle following the incident on Wednesday.
And gardai quipped that the driver will be sent "back to the courts".
A garda tweet said: "The driver of this car must have thought he was Marty McFly when he was stopped by Gardaí in Cavan yesterday.
"All documentation out of date. Car seized and the driver will be 'Back to the Courts'."
