Man blasted dead in horror Ballymun shooting as gardai appeal for witnesses

Gardai have appealed for witnesses after a man died in a fatal shooting in north Dublin.

The horrific incident happened in Belclare Terrace, Ballymun, Dublin this evening at 9 pm.

A man, aged in his mid-40s, received a number of gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardai have appealed for camera footage of the incident (including dash-cam and mobile phone footage) to be made available to investigating officers.

A garda spokewoman said: "The scene is currently preserved and a technical examination is to be carried out by the Garda Technical Bureau.

"An incident room has been established at Ballymun Garda Station. Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information in relation to this incident to come forward. Gardaí are particularly appealing to anyone who was in the Belclare Terrace and Belclare Park areas this evening between 8pm and 9.15pm to come forward.

"Anyone who may have camera footage of the incident (including dash-cam and mobile phone footage) is asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.

"Anyone with any information in relation to this matter should contact Ballymun Garda Station on 01 666 4400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station."
