Gardai are investigating the death of a child in Co Waterford.
It's understood that the infant was found dead in "unexplained circumstances" at a domestic premises on Tuesday afternoon.
The discovery was made at around 2pm.
A post-morten will determine the cause of death and the course of the investigation.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating all circumstances into the death of an infant in unexplained circumstances at a domestic premises in Waterford which occurred on Tuesday, 18th February 2020 at approximately 2pm.
"A post-mortem is due to be carried out and this will determine the course of the investigation."
