Gardai are investigating a "suspicious approach" to a child who was playing in a GAA ground last Saturday, April 6.
The 11-year-old boy was at Scartaglen GAA grounds in Castleisland, Co Kerry when he was allegedly approached by two men who were in a black Volkswagen Golf.
Radio Kerry reports that the men chased the boy but he managed to escape through a hole in a fence and raised the alarm.
The youngster was not hurt during the incident.
A garda spokesperson told The Irish Daily Mirror: "Gardai are investigating a report of an alleged suspicious approach to an 11 year old boy at approximately 3pm on the 6/04/19 at Scartaglin GAA Grounds, Castleisland, Co Kerry."

Scartaglen GAA will be holding a public meeting tonight following the incident.
They issued a tweet which read: "Public/Community meeting will be held tomorrow night Tuesday 9th April in the Heritage Centre, Scartaglen at 9.30pm to discuss details of the incident that occurred in the GAA grounds over the weekend.
"Parents/guardians encouraged to attend."

Scartaglen GAA notified parents of the event yesterday and held an officers' meeting last night.
Club officials have asked parents to be extra vigilant and not to allow their child to play unattended at the grounds.
