Gardai investigating robbery at Dunshaughlin bookies after thug stole cash and 'threatened staff'

Gardai are appealing to the public for information on a thug who raided a Co Meath bookies yesterday.

The robbery took place at a Boylesports bookmaker on Dunshaughlin's Main Street just after 5pm on Sunday evening.

The brazen thief entered the premises and stole cash after threatening staff.

He then ran from the bookies towards Dunshaughlin Fire Station and into the library car park.

The Meath Crime Prevention Facebook page, run by An Garda Siochana, posted about the incident and appealed for information.

The post said: "Dunshaughlin Garda are investigating a robbery at Boylessports bookies on the main street yesterday at approx 5:10pm.

"He was wearing a black baseball hat, black Nike zip top with long sleeves, grey shorts and white runners.

"If anyone saw the suspect before or after the incident can you please call the Garda on 01 8010600."
