Gardai are investigating whether a drone was used in a midnight robbery over the weekend.
Three power washers were stolen from a Laois Hire facility in Nurney, Kildare on Sunday night just after 12am.
The incident immediately raised alarm bells with locals who had spotted a drone constantly flying in the area in the days previous.
Residents of the Booleigh area told investigating officers that they had been haunted by the humming noise of the unmanned aerial vehicle in recent days leading up to robbery, Dublin Live reports.
A Garda spokesman said that no further information was available but asked anybody with information to contact gardaí in Athy.
