Gardai are investigating after a man's body was found at an apartment in north Cork.
The man was in his 60s and the body was discovered at a property on Bridge Street, Mallow, shortly after 5pm this evening.
A post mortem is due to be carried out at Cork University Hospital, the results of which will determine the nature of their investigation.
In a statement, the Gardaí said that they are "investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of a body of a male in his 60s, at a property on Bridge Street, Mallow, shortly after 5pm this evening, Saturday, March 13.
"The body has been removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place at a later date, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation.
Members of the Garda Technical Bureau are also examining the man’s apartment.
