Gardai investigating after man, 50s, found dead at Tallaght retail park

A man in his 50s has been found dead in the car park of a south Dublin retail park this afternoon.

Gardai were called to the scene at the shopping outlet on the Old Belgard Riad, Tallaght at around 1pm.

One shopper told Dublin Live there was a large garda presence at the scene, which was sealed off before the man's body was taken to Tallaght University Hospital for post-mortem.

A garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live investigations into the tragic discovery are ongoing.

She said: "Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body on the grounds of a retail premises on the Old Belgard Road, Tallaght.

"Gardaí were alerted to the incident at approximately 1pm today, Thursday 21st May 2020. A male, aged in his 50s, was discovered deceased at the scene.

"His body has since been removed to the mortuary at Tallaght University Hospital where a post-mortem will be conducted. Investigations are ongoing."
