A garda investigation is under way after a body was discovered off the coast of Dublin.
The body was found on Thursday evening by staff working on Lambay Island.
The person's remains have since been taken to the Dublin City Morgue.
Gardai hope that the results of a post-mortem examination and DNA analysis by Forensic Science Ireland will help them in confirming the individual's identity, as DublinLive reports.
A garda spokesman said: “The results of a post-mortem examination, and DNA analysis by Forensic Science Ireland, will assist investigating gardai in confirming the identity of the remains and with the course of their investigations.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
