Gardai investigate as pedestrian rushed to hospital following morning car collision on Blanchardstown Road North, Dublin

A pedestrian has been rushed to hospital following a car collision in west Dublin this morning.

Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene of the collision at around 8am on the Blanchardstown Road North over the N3.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital but thankfully has non-life threatening injuries.

Delays were in place for several hours after the incident but the car involved has since been removed and normal service has resumed.

A Garda spokesman said: "We attended the scene of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on the Blanchardstown Road North on 29 January 2020 at approximately 8am.

"One person injured and taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigations are ongoing."
