Gardai investigate as man seriously injured after 'incident' outside hospital A&E

Gardai are investigating after a man was seriously injured in an "incident" outside a hospital in Co Kerry.

The incident happened outside the entrance of University Hospital Kerry with hospital personnel at around 7pm last Sunday.

A man, who is aged in his 60s, was treated at the hospital after sustaining a head injury and has since been brought to Cork University Hospital.

His condition is currently understood to be serious.

And officers are now appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward with any information.

A spokesman said: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following an incident in Tralee, Co. Kerry on Sunday November 7.

"Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and are particularly appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of the entrance to A&E at University Hospital Kerry between 5pm and 8pm to come forward.

"They are also appealing to anyone with camera footage (including dash cam) to make it available to them.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Tralee Garda Station 066 7102300, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station."
