Gardai investigate as man rushed to hospital with serious injuries after horror crash

A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a horror car crash in Co Kerry.

The incident happened on the N21 at Ballymacelligott at around 8.30am on Saturday.

The two-vehicle collision occurred between the towns of Tralee and Castleisland.

A driver in one of the cars, a man in his 60s, was brought to Cork University Hospital by air ambulance. His injuries are understood to be serious.

A second man in his 60s who was driving the other car was also brought to hospital in Tralee as a precaution.

A garda spokesman said: "The road was examined by Garda forensic collision investigators and the road has since fully reopened to traffic.

"Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Tralee Garda Station (066) 7102300.

"The investigation is ongoing."
