A man was stabbed by a knife-slashing armed attacker in Dublin city centre.
The incident happened at a flat in the capital on Friday night.
The victim, in his early 30s, was taken to hospital late last night after receiving serious injuries in the horror stabbing, Dublin Live reports.
The shocking incident took place at a property on the North Circular Road after 10pm on Friday night with a man in his 40s arrested a short time later.
The injured man is still receiving treatment for stab wounds at Mater Hospital.
Store Street Garda Station are currently quizzing the arrested man and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault that took place at a residence on the North Circular Road in Dublin last night, Friday 5th February 2021 at approximately 10.25pm.
"A man, aged in his 30s, was discovered at the location with a number of stab wounds . He was later taken to Mater Misericordiae Hospital for treatment of his injuries. These injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
"A man, aged in his 40s, was arrested at the scene by Gardaí. He was conveyed to Store Street Garda Station where he currently detained.
"Investigations ongoing."
