Gardai investigate as around €10m worth of cocaine found hidden in container at Dublin Port

A massive coke seizure was made last night with the haul believed to be worth around €10million.

It is understood Customs officers discovered 330kg of the drug in a container in Dublin Port on Wednesday afternoon.

For a seizure of this size, detectives will likely look at the major players in the drugs trade such as the Kinahan cartel.

A Revenue spokesman told the Irish Mirror last night: “I can confirm that a Revenue operation is ongoing in Dublin Port.

“As the operation is ongoing no information is available or confirmed to share at present.

“As soon as the operation is complete and details confirmed we will release the details to the press.”

One source told the Irish Mirror last night that the cocaine shipment lay for several days at the busy Dublin Port – but that no-one came to pick it up.

He said: “This is a huge haul. A massive blow to those who put it together.”
