A man in his 20s has been rushed to hospital after an assault in Co Cork in the early hours of Friday.
It is believed the man sustained serious injuries after being stabbed during an incident at a house in Meadows Estate, Hollyhill overnight.
The man was taken to Cork University Hospital where he is currently being treated.
There have also been reports that a separate man suffered a heart attack.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating an incident of assault which occurred in the Hollyhill area of Co Cork in the early hours of this morning, Friday 28th January 2022.
"A man aged in his 20s has been taken to Cork University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
"This investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time."
