Gardai are investigating a suspicious approach incident in north Dublin after a man allegedly tried to lure a primary school girl into a van.
The man is said to have used strawberries to entice the six-year-old child into the vehicle in the Villa Park area of Dublin 7.
Thankfully the young girl declined and was able to get away safely from the scene.
Several community text alerts were circulated by local groups and schools around the Navan Road area warning parents and guardians of the incident.
A garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live: "Gardai responded to reports of an incident which occurred on the Navan Road, Dublin on the 9 June 2021 at approximately 1:00pm."
She added: "No further information is available and enquiries are ongoing."
