Gardai are investigating after a man's body was pulled from the water in Dublin.
The incident happened at Dun Laoghaire beach at around 10pm on Tuesday.
Officers and emergency services rushed to the scene after reports of a man entering the water.
And the body of a man in his 40s was recovered and taken to St Vincent's Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Gardai said a post mortem is expected to take place in the coming days with investigations continuing.

However, it is understood that the discovery is not currently being treated as suspicious.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí and emergency services attended Dun Laoghaire yesterday evening Tuesday 17th August 2021.
"A male aged in his 40s was recovered from the water and taken to St Vincent’s Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
"A post mortem will take place in due course.
"Investigations are ongoing."
