Gardai investigate after child 'followed to school' by suspicious man in north Dublin

Gardai are investigating the "suspicious approach" of a child in north Dublin.

An urgent warning was issued to parents after the student was "followed by a man" on their way to school early on Thursday morning.

The incident happened in the north inner city in the capital at around 8.50am.

The school has referred the incident to gardai, who say they are investigating the alleged "suspicious approach".

An email sent to parents and guardians, seen by the Irish Mirror, urges them to talk with their children about safety in the community.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
