Gardai investigate after body found in Corrandulla, Co Galway

Gardai are investigating after a body was found in Co Galway.

The discovery was made in the village of Corrandulla on Tuesday afternoon.

The remains of the man in his 70s were brought to Galway University Hospital.

A postmortem exam is expected in the coming days, while officers continue to investigate the incident.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí attended an incident in Corrandulla, Co. Galway on Tuesday, 2nd March 2021.

"The body of a male, aged in 70s, was located in the area.

"The body has since been removed from the scene and taken to Galway University Hospital where a post-mortem is due to take place.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
