Gardai investigate after body found in burning car in Co Limerick

Gardai have discovered a body in a burning car in Co Limerick.

The incident happened in the Tournafulla area on Saturday afternoon.

Officers were called to the scene at around 3pm where they found a vehicle that was on fire.

A body was found inside the car and was removed from the scene to University Hospital Limerick.

Officers said that their investigations are still ongoing.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating an incident that occurred in the Tournafulla area of Co. Limerick yesterday afternoon at approximately 3pm.

"A body was discovered in a vehicle that was discovered on fire in the area.

"The body has since been removed from the scene and taken to University Hospital Limerick.

"Investigations are ongoing."
