Gardai intercepted two cars in separate searches before searching a commercial premises during their massive €4 million drugs bust in west Dublin on Friday.
A 51-year-old man and another man in his late 20s were arrested after an intelligence led operation by Gardai who seized heroin and cocaine and in Clondalkin and Ballyfermot.
In the first operation, a car was intercepted in Ballyfermot and during the search approximately 20 kilos of Diamorphine and Cocaine was seized.
The younger man was arrested following this search and is currently being detained at Clondalkin Garda Station.
The second operation saw a car being intercepted at Parkwest Road, Ballyfermot which was subsequently searched where 22.5kilos of Diamorphine and Cocaine was seized.
The 51-year-old man was arrested in connection with this separate investigation and is detained at Clondalkin Garda Station also.
Also, in a follow up operation at a commercial premises in the Kylemore Industrial Estate, approximately 1.8 kilos of Cannabis resin was discovered.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí from the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau carried out two searches in the Clondalkin and Ballyfermot areas of Dublin this evening, Friday September 27 2019.
"During the course of the searches, Heroin and Cocaine (subject to analysis) was seized with an estimated street value of €4m.
"Two men have been arrested and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 – Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996."
