Gardai in Dublin arrest motorist who NEVER had a licence on suspicion of drug driving

A motorist who never held a driving licence has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving in Dublin.

The driver was pulled over on Sunday night after being spotted driving erratically.

Gardai from the Dublin Roads Policing Unit arrested the uninsured driver after they tested positive for cannabis.

A garda tweet said: "Car observed driving erratically last night in Dublin.

"Driver had no insurance, NEVER held a driving licence and was arrested on suspicion of drug driving. Court proceeding to follow."

Another intoxicated driver was arrested on Walkinstown Avenue in Dublin after they arrived at the checkpoint with a flat tyre.

The motorist became the most recent person to be caught driving while intoxicated over the May bank holiday weekend.

Around the country, another a further three motorists were nabbed either drug driving while a fourth driver was arrested for drink driving.
