Gardai hunting thieving cyclist after cash-in-transit robbery in Dublin

Gardai are on the hunt for a thieving cyclist who held up a cash-in-transit in Dublin on Tuesday.

The van had been making a delivery on Beaumont Road in North Dublin when the man ambushed them on his push bike before making a getaway with the cashbox.

Gardai are now appealing for witnesses as the man escaped in the Trim Road direction, Dublin Live reports.

A spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating a Cash in Transit robbery that occurred Tuesday 7th May 2019.

"At approximately 2.00pm a cash in transit van was making a delivery to a premises on the Beaumont Road, Dublin 9, when one man on a push bike, approached the security guard demanding cash.

"He fled towards Trim Rd with a cash box.

"No arrests have been made and no persons were injured."
