Gardai hunting killers after Fairview murder of man, 60s, as three young people released

Gardai have issued a renewed appeal for information in relation to the murder of a man in Fairview.

The victim, aged in his 60s, was horrifically assaulted on the night of June 3 at Fairview Strand.

Gardai are appealing to people who may have been in the area between the hours of 10:30 pm and midnight on June 7, 2021, to contact them.

They are also asking for people who may have dashcam or camera footage to come forward.

The alarm was raised after the man was found unconscious at around 11pm after a gang attack in Fairview Strand.

He was rushed to the Mater Hospital by emergency vehicles where he was treated for serious injuries.

Three men, all in their 20s, have been arrested and questioned at Raheny Garda Station to date.

All three were released without charge and filed were prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A garda spokesman said: "Anyone with information can contact Raheny Garda Station on 01 666 4300, Clontarf at 01 666 4800 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111."
