Gardai hunting information on two cars after latest Drogheda feud murder in Bettystown, Co Meath

Gardai investigating the latest Drogheda feud murder are appealing for information on two cars.

Richie Carberry, a father-of-two, was gunned down on Monday night outside his home in Bettystown, Co Meath.

The 39-year-old was blasted at least three times as he closed the gate of his home in Castlemartin Drive.

Detectives are searching for anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the Castlemartin Estate and Eastham Road area leading up to November 4.

Officers are also hoping to gather information on a 2008-register Peugeot Bipper van and a blue Ford Fiesta with a 06 number plate - which was found burnt out at The Grange, Ballyboughal, Dublin.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have seen Peugeot Bipper Van (08 D 124410) between 27th September 2019 and the 4th November 2019.

"It was purchased in South Dublin on 27th September 2019 and investigators are aware that it was parked in the vicinity of Castlemartin Close and Eastham Close between 30th October and 4th November 2019.

"Anyone who may have observed this van or anyone entering or exiting the van at any time after the 27th September 2019 are asked to contact Gardaí.

"Gardaí are also appealing to anyone who may have observed a Blue Ford Fiesta (06 D 80706) in the vicinity of Eastham Court, Eastham Road or the general Bettystown area in the days and weeks leading up to Monday 4th November 2019."

Gardai wish to speak to any road users who may have dash cam footage of the area between 11.40pm and 12.20am on the night of the incident.
