Gardai are hunting five men after a Kildare community were left in fear following a 'distressing and stressful incident'.
The gang are said to have been involved in a burglary in Kildare town in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The group allegedly burst into the house, past the homeowner, at Maryville home on the Melitta Road, at around 2am.
They caused damage to electrical goods and the internal walls with a Garda spokeswoman described it as a "distressing and stressful incident".
Gardai are urging people with information to come forward and contact them on 045-52-77-30.
