Gardai hunt for creep predator 'standing in shadows' chasing girls, 13, at Dublin school as Walkinstown locals warned

Gardai are searching for a man dressed "all in black" who allegedly ran after two young school girls in south Dublin on Sunday night.

Officers rushed to Wilkins Court in Walkinstown just after 6pm after receiving reports from the teen pair's parents about a "predator" who chased them at a nearby school.

The two youngsters, who are only 13, were walking a dog at the back of the Greenhills College when they spotted the man "standing in the shadows".

He began to run towards the girls who started to sprint home as the scary and mysterious figure followed them in close persuit.

A family friend said the girls "made it to the house despite still being followed and knocked the door down before being let in".

They added: "The girls had to go in and make a statement and Gardai are taking it very seriously."

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "We received a report of a suspicious approach near Wilkins Court in Walkinstown on Sunday 24 January at approximately 6.15pm."

He added: "No offences disclosed but enquiries are ongoing."
