Gardai hunt driver after teenage boy injured in hit-and-run while cycling in Co Donegal

Gardai are hunting for a driver involved in a hit-and-run in Co Donegal.

The incident happened on Tuesday, August 3, in the Leiter area of Kilmacrennan.

A boy was riding his bike when he was hit by a car at around 5.50pm.

The teenager was treated for his injuries but these are understood to have been non-life-threatening.

And officers are now appealing for anyone with information about the incident, or who was in the area at the time of the collision, to come forward.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating a collision which occurred at Leiter in Kilmacrennan, Co.Donegal on Tuesday 3rd August 2021 at approximately 5.50pm when a vehicle collided with a cyclist.

"A male youth, the cyclist, received injuries following the collision. But these were non-life-threatening.

"Anyone with information or people who may have video footage, including dash-cam, between 5.45pm-6.15pm can contact Gardaí in Milford at 074 9153060."
