Gardai hit 'home run' as disqualified driver caught with mobile phone while drink driving with no insurance or seatbelt

It was quite a successful day for gardai who caught a disqualified driver breaking several laws.

The driver was not only disqualified, but was on his mobile phone while drink driving.

And to top it all off, he also had no insurance and wore no seatbelt.

Gardai said they hit a "home run" as they stopped the driver on Killiney Hill Road in South Dublin.

They said: "DMR East Roads Policing Unit scored a “Home Run” when they stopped a driver on Killiney Hill Road. Drink driving, driving while disqualified, no Insurance, driving with no seatbelt, driving while using a Mobile Phone. Court to follow."

Gardai also caught a van parked in part of an accessible bay today, making it unusable for those who need it.

They said: "DMR South Central RPU observed this vehicle today, half in an accessible bay with no permit displayed. This is no good for a genuine user, rendering this spot unable to use."
