Gardai give young boy birthday surprise he won't forget with blue light procession

Gardai and the emergency services surprised a 12-year-old boy a birthday he will never forget by giving him blue light procession.

Sean Healy from Co Clare was celebrating his birthday when the Airport Police, Fire Service, Civil Defence and An Garda Síochána paid a visit to his home to wish him a happy birthday.

In the video, Sean and his family wave to the emergency services as they pass his door flashing their lights.

Sean recently had an operation and was told he would have to cocoon for 12 months.

The young man didn't let this phase him and has been helping the Gardai raise awareness on Social Distancing and the need to wash your hands during the pandemic.

Sean graduated from the Little Blue Heroes academy and has since become an honorary Garda.

The video which was posted on Friday morning has been viewed over 50,000 times and has had many comments from people praising Sean and the Gardai.

One viewer said: "Absolutely fantastic display of respect from our emergency services. Happy Birthday Honorary Garda Seán.

While another commented "Happy birthday young man, well deserved. How kind of the emergency services to make your day even more special!"
