Gardai give update on 13-year-old hospitalised after being hit by car in Celbridge, Kildare

Gardai say a 13-year-old is recovering in hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Kildare yesterday evening.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after the young man was hit at a crossing on the Dublin road in Celbridge at around 3pm on Tuesday.

The teen was taken to Crumlin Hospital where his injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

A witness described the scary incident saying the youngster was thrown high into the air before landing on the other side of the junction.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí are investigating a traffic collision between a car and a male youth pedestrian, 13 years, that occurred on the Dublin Road Celbridge on 25/6/19 at approximately 1:30pm.

"The pedestrian was taken to Crumlin Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigations are ongoing."
