Gardai fine motorcyclist for 'unreasonable' behaviour while at site of car crash

Gardai were forced to issue a fine to a motorcyclist after they behaved 'unreasonably' while at the scene of a car crash.

Earlier this week, officers were called to assist at a collision on the M7.

A unit from the Clane Garda Station were sent out to the crash, where they were in the process of taking details when another driver caused an issue.

Ahead of them, they spotted a motorcyclist overtaking on the hard shoulder - which is a major no-no in the rules of the road.

They subsequently stopped them for showing unreasonable consideration for other road users.

A Fixed Charge Penalty Notice (FCPN) was issued immediately.

Meanwhile, a woman was hospitalised after being attacked and robbed by a man while out walking in Cavan last month.

Gardaí in Cavan are appealing for witnesses after the assault in the Ard Glas area of Killygowan on Saturday, September 4.

The woman was walking on the Fairview Drive Road shortly after 10pm when she was assaulted by a man, had property stolen from her.

She was taken to Cavan Hospital following the incident.

Cavan and Monaghan Garda Division are appealing for anyone who may be able to assist them with enquiries, including anyone with CCTV of the area or dash cam footage.
