Gardai have discovered 116 suspected stolen bicycles with a staggering combined worth of €250,000 in a Dublin container.
Officers at Pearse Street obtained a search warrant to search the 40 foot container located in Newcastle, west Dublin as part of investigations into bike theft in the city centre.
Dublin Fire Brigade assisted Gardai with obtaining entry where they found bicycles of all makes and models.
Gardai from the Street Crime Unit in Pearse Street have said they will endeavour to identify the rightful owners of all the bikes.
They added that bicycles which have not been reunited with their owners will be circulated on social media in the coming weeks.
All items in the container were seized pending further technical examination and investigations are ongoing.
