Gardai have confirmed that a body has been found in a search for a missing Kildare teenager.
Shane O'Connor, 17, was last seen in the Tallaght area of Dublin on Thursday.
Gardai had said they were "concerned for Shane's welfare" when the launched an appeal on Thursday evening.
This morning, they released a statement saying the search had been stood down after the discovery of a body in the Bray area on Friday.
A garda spokesperson said: "Following the recovery of a body in the Bray area of Wicklow on Friday, 7th January 2022, a Missing Person Appeal in respect of Shane O'Connor, 17 years, has been stood down.
"An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and public for their assistance in this matter. No further action is required and no further information is available at this time."
