A man has died in hospital after he became seriously ill at a premises in Co Tipperary on Sunday.
Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene in Thurles at around 11am on Sunday morning.
The main thoroughfare of the town, Liberty Square, was closed for a time as medical personnel treated the man.
He was taken to Clonmel Hospital where he sadly passed away later in the afternoon.
A post mortem examination will take place in due course and a file will be prepared for the Coroners Court.
Gardai say they are investigating the man's tragic death.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí in Thurles were called to assist National Ambulance Service at a property in the town of Thurles, this morning, Sunday 24th October, 2021 at approximately 11am.
"A man became seriously ill and was removed by ambulance to Clonmel Hospital where he later passed away this afternoon.
"A post mortem will take place in due course and a file will be prepared for the Coroners Court.
"Investigations ongoing."
