Gardai close off main street in Swords, Dublin after 'security breach'

Gardai have closed off the main street of a North Dublin town after an apparent "security breach".

The Main Street in Swords is currently closed off as the incident is dealt with.

Locals are currently unable to access either side of the street including Swords Garda Station, Dublin Live reports.

Traffic is reportedly “mayhem” in the area as gardai have closed off the main street of the village.

Traffic chaos warning as Bus Connects chiefs want to make Rathmines in Dublin one way for cars  

Live Drive said: "We have reports of an incident on Swords Main St with the road currently blocked and diversions in place."

Dublin Bus said: “We wish to advise customers that due to an incident Swords village is closed . Buses will use Seatown Lane in both directions until further notice.

“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused."
