A three-year-old was rushed to hospital following a horror crash in Dublin.

Gardai sealed off the Ninth Lock Road in Clondalkin after rushing to the scene of a collision involving a car and an infant at 10.30 this morning.

The toddler had been walking with her mother when the incident happened.

The young child was taken to CHI Hospital at Temple Street for treatment of her injuries.

The driver was uninjured.

The road has since been reopened.

A garda spokeswoman confirmed investigations into the incident are ongoing.
