Gardai close busy Irish motorway following 'incident' in Co Wicklow

Gardai have closed a busy Irish motorway following an incident this afternoon.

Emergency services and gardaí are currently at the scene of the incident on the M11 Junction 18 Southbound in Wicklow.

The road has been currently closed with local diversions in place.

Motorists are reportedly facing huge delays as the busy motorway has been sealed off.

One motorist told Dublin Live: "We were on our way to Brittas Bay when we got stuck in traffic. Traffic is quite heavy because of the good weather and everyone's going to the beach."

A garda spokesperson said no further information is available at this time.
