Gardai were called to the centre of Cork city on Saturday night to disperse a large crowd of youths - many of whom appeared to be drinking.
An eyewitness told Cork Beo that there were between "200 to 300 of them" gathered on the corner where the Grand Parade meets the South Mall.
The majority of the crowd appeared to be drinking alcohol, while there was also an altercation that took place which left one young person injured.
Gardai quickly arrived on the scene to clear the crowds and put an end to the large gathering before it escalated even further.
"There were easily about 200 to 300 of them," said the witness.
"They were all underage, some of them had Lucozade bottles pouring vodka into it, there were smashed bottles all over the place.
"There was one big scrap where a young lad seemed to end up covered in blood and his mates took him aside and he was screaming his head off.
"He had to be held against the wall. The guards came after about 10 minutes and they started to clear it; they all went in their droves in different directions.
"I've been in the city every Saturday, I would walk past Electric and tonight as by far the rowdiest I’d ever seen it. Sometimes there's a crowd and people are drinking but the atmosphere is usually nice.
"Other times there’s a really aggressive feel to it and tonight was by far the most aggressive I'd ever seen it! Tons of young lads trying to act like hard men in front of their mates, clearly aren’t able to handle their drink. They’d want to cop onto themselves.”
A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: "An Garda Síochána carried out active patrols of public spaces throughout the evening.
"A number of arrests were made for Public Order Incidents.
"The policing of anti social behaviour is an ongoing priority for An Garda Síochána."
