A driver was arrested this week for speeding at 201km/h on a motorway in Kilkenny.
Officers clocked the motorist tearing down the M9 Kilkenny to Dublin motorway and pursued the vehicle.
Upon stopping the speedster, officers arrested the driver on the spot for dangerous driving - they will appear in court at a later date.
A garda spokesperson said: "Kilkenny Roads Policing Unit were conducting speed checks on the M9 in Kilkenny when they detected this driver speeding at 201 KPH. The driver was arrested & charged with Dangerous Driving, due to the high speed and will be appearing in the District Court in the coming weeks."
