Gardai catch uninsured driver with car tax a staggering 1,312 days out of date

Gardai stopped an uninsured driver with no NCT and car tax that expired a staggering 1,312 days ago.

The discovery was made by officers from Cahir during a routine patrol earlier this week.

A vehicle was seen "acting suspiciously" in the Ardfinnan area on Monday morning.

Gardai pulled the vehicle over and made the remarkable discovery.

Not only was the tax on the car more than three and a half years out of date, but the motorist also had no insurance or NCT on the vehicle.

The driver will appear in court in relation to the incident.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardai in Cahir on patrol in the Ardfinnan area stopped this vehicle acting suspiciously this morning.

"On using our Mobility App we discovered the driver was uninsured, tax expired 1312 days ago as well as No NCT for a long time.

"The vehicle was seized and court to follow."
