Gardai catch motorist banned from driving for 36 years behind the wheel of car in Dublin

A person with 36 years of driving bans built up was caught behind the wheel of a car in Dublin.

Gardai stopped the disqualified motorist in the Dublin 8 area during a Covid-19 checkpoint.

And, by using their mobility app, officers discovered the driver had collected more than three decades of driving bans.

Their car was seized with gardai saying a court date will follow.

A garda spokesman said: "DMR RPU stopped the driver of this car in D8 at a #Covid19 c/point.

"The mobility app showed that driver had accumulated over 36yrs of driving bans. Car seized and Court to follow."
