Gardai called to deal with late night incident in Mayo hospital as man asked to leave area

Gardai were called to a late-night incident in a Mayo hospital over Halloween weekend - as a man was told to leave the premises following a conversation with officials.

Officers attended an incident at Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar at approximately 2:55am on Friday morning.

There, they encountered a man who was the subject of the call - who, upon interactting with members of An Garda Síochána, left the hospital in the early hours.

Local media report that the man had arrived at the Emergency Department of the hospital, insisting on removing his mother against medical advice.

The Western People say that he had threatened staff, claiming he had hold of a weapon.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed to the Irish Mirror that no arrests had been made as a result of the incident.
