Gardai attend 'serious incident' involving pedestrian and car on N81 road in south Dublin

A single vehicle road traffic collision caused serious delays this morning in south Dublin.

The N81 between Citywest and Jobstown House was closed off by Gardai following what they describe as a serious incident involving a car and a pedestrian.

Gardai were unable to confirm if anyone had been badly injured in the incident, Dublin Live reports.

There were serious delays on the stretch of road and commuters were urged to approach it with caution.

AA Roadwatch have since confirmed that the road has been reopened.

A spokesperson said: The N81 Blessington Road has reopened at Citywest following an incident.

"Delays have eased in the area and around Saggart."
