Gardai are currently at the scene of an "incident" that occurred at a house in Carlow this afternoon.
The unknown incident happened at the home in Carlow town on Friday afternoon.
A woman was rushed to hospital for treatment but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
It is understood that the woman may have suffered apparent stab wounds.
As KCLR reports, the incident is believed to have occurred at a property in the New Oak Estate.
The woman is reported to have received treatment at the scene following the "suspected stabbing" and was then transferred to St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are currently at the scene of an incident at a residence in Carlow town which occurred this afternoon, Friday 10 th September 2021.
"A female, details currently unknown, has been taken to hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this time.
"Investigations are ongoing."
It follows a second emergency incident that happened in Co Louth on Thursday night.
Gardai and emergency services raced to the scene in the Ardee area at around 7.10pm.
Officers said that a male was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for treatment.
Gardai said they had experienced a "non-life threatening medical emergency".
